Usually performing 250 shows a year, The Jive Aces were forced like many others into a two year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic. Not being the types to let that get them down and with a passion for bringing smiles to people through their uplifting swinging music, they dragged their 20th century music into the 21st century and learned all the ins and outs of live-streaming and due to popular demand managed a staggering 500 consecutive daily live streams.
In March 2022 The band was finally able to get back to what it does best by bringing the life, energy and positivity of their high-energy jazz, swing and rockin’ rhythm and blues music to live audiences. They embarked upon a month-long tour of the USA taking in both coasts and lots in between and met lots of new fans at every show who had discovered the band by tuning into the ‘JiveStream’ over the pandemic. Now firmly “out of the cage”, they followed this up with a string of festival and venue appearances which culminated at the end of 2022 in a huge successful show at the Aldwych Theatre in London’s iconic West End featuring a host of special guest performers.
2024 is somewhat of a fresh start with the band taking their infectious vintage-style music across the UK to many venues that were postponed from 2020 and some new ones too. If you have seen the Jive Aces before then you know what to expect and if you haven’t then you are in for a treat whether you are a fan of hot jazz and cool swing or are yet to be turned onto it. The show will be full of well known classics from Louis Prima, Cab Calloway, Dena Martin, Bobby Darin and even the odd early Elvis tune thrown in as well as some of their own original tunes not to mention their now iconic yellow suits and pure, wall-to-wall entertainment!
The Jive Aces have been together for over 25 years, working with and for top celebrities in show business such as Van Morrison, Chick Corea, Keely Smith and John Travolta, to name just a few and count A-list stars such as Ewan McGregor and Tom Hardy among their fans. Throughout their prolific career, they have cultivated all the tricks of the trade to make any show spectacular and memorable.
